1. Introduction

Friskly AB [TODO: founder to confirm the exact legal entity name] ("we", "us", or "our") operates Jalapeño (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service. Please read this policy carefully. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described herein.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

  • Account information: name, email address, and password when you register.
  • Workspace information: team name, member invitations, and workspace settings.
  • Billing information: when you subscribe to a paid plan, your payment is processed by Stripe. Card details are entered with and handled directly by Stripe, and we do not store your full card number. We receive and store billing metadata such as your name, billing email, plan, seat count, and the last four digits and brand of the card.
  • Meeting data: audio recordings, transcripts, and extracted action items you upload or generate through the Service.
  • Communications: messages you send to us via contact forms or support requests.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage data: pages visited, features used, and interaction patterns.
  • Device data: browser type, operating system, IP address, and device identifiers.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: see Section 6 below.

2.3 Information from Third Parties

  • OAuth providers: when you connect integrations (Slack, Google, Microsoft, Zoom, Atlassian, Linear, Asana), we receive access tokens and basic profile data as authorized by you.
  • Meeting platforms: calendar events and meeting metadata from connected services.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and maintain the Service, including transcription, AI analysis, and action item tracking.
  • To sync your data with third-party integrations you have connected.
  • To process payments, manage subscriptions, calculate seat and usage charges, and send billing receipts and related notices through our payment processor.
  • To communicate with you about the Service, including updates and support.
  • To improve and develop new features based on aggregated usage patterns.
  • To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal data. We may share information with:

  • Service providers: third-party vendors who assist in operating the Service (hosting, AI processing, analytics). These providers are contractually bound to protect your data.
  • Payment processor: we use Stripe to process payments and manage subscriptions. When you subscribe to a paid plan, your billing details are shared with and processed by Stripe under its own terms and privacy policy. Stripe acts as the processor of your card data; Jalapeño does not receive or store your full card number.
  • Connected integrations: data you explicitly choose to sync (e.g., action items sent to Linear or Jira).
  • Legal requirements: when required by law, regulation, or legal process.
  • Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice to affected users.

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption at rest and in transit, AES-256-GCM encryption for OAuth tokens, rate limiting, and regular security reviews. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies for analytics (Google Analytics) and behavior tracking (Contentsquare). These are only activated after you provide explicit consent via our cookie consent banner. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser cookies and revisiting the site.

7. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Meeting recordings are retained for [TODO: founder to set the recording retention period, e.g. 30 days]. Billing records are retained for as long as required to meet our legal, tax, and accounting obligations. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at [TODO: founder to set the privacy or data protection contact email].

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your data.
  • Object to or restrict processing of your data.
  • Data portability: receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

To exercise these rights, contact us at [TODO: founder to set the privacy or data protection contact email].

9. International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed in countries other than your own. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as Standard Contractual Clauses, to protect your data during international transfers.

10. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we learn we have collected data from a child, we will delete it promptly.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
